SUMMER WHIMSY WEDDING

Intimate ceremony & reception

For Suja and Paul there was no better spot to have their summer wedding than the beautiful island of Santorini, Greece. The couple wanted it to be an intimate wedding ceremony and with only 5 of their closest family attending they wanted their special day to be a very informal, relaxed affair.

Suja, in her own words, “wanted to add that unique stamp on the day” and “would like the colours fit in with the sunset wedding theme and background scenery”. As the breathtaking caldera backdrop was the inspiration for the day’s styling, cheery summer colors of blue and peach with touches of white and gold gave the day a touch of whimsy and fit perfectly with the surroundings.

Flowers played a key role in the wedding decoration. The ceremony was held on the terrace of a beautiful villa ovelooking the caldera, under a pergola draped in white and decorated with wreaths filled with the couple’s favorite flowers: roses in different hues of peach, blue hydrangeas, scabiosa, succulents and eucalyptus leaves.

After Suja and Paul exchanged vows, they joined their guests for the reception. A tall, yet romantic flower centerpiece surrounded by gold candleholders allowed all guests to enjoy a view of the island during dinner. The elegant place settings consisted of sleek gold chargers and blush pink napkins beautifully displayed in gold napkin rings. Succulents that were used as name tags added the necessary freshness and vibrancy to the overall reception design.

Guests took home a traditional Santorini mini chapel as their wedding favors; a reminder of Suja’s and Paul’s love-filled day!
